You Wanna Get Me What?!

Okay folks, let's keep in mind Snoop Dogg is almost 40 YEARS OLD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoop_Dogg). He's obviously been working out, and his skin looks immaculately smooth. (sorry bout it it does) And the shawties in this video are bangin, of course, but C'MON. Just when you thought vulgar couldn't be anymore mainstream, this song comes out. Is this really getting legit airplay right now? You just want to get me WHAT?!

Also, a hook of 'drip drip drip'........wow. Wowowowow. Really though? I love it!

In addition, Snoop Dogg's use of autotune, adding to the downfall of creativity of music and blah blah blah, yes I know it's musically damaging. It adds to the catchiness, adds to the gimmicks, but this whole song is a gimmick, so it works.

Finally, love that Snoop based this video loosely off of The Hangover. Catchy, of course, because no vulgar song is acceptable without getting stuck in heads, but also horrible and I love it. Sorries.

This is Your Brain on Hip Hop

This video discusses the science behind the creativity of jazz and hip hop (which Charles Limb, the lecturer, says are very similar). Basically, freestyle rap is art and takes a tremendous amount of creativity and uses certain parts of the brain to generate.

For all you hip hop haters, rap is ART.
